STCW Basic Safety Training
STCW stands for Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping.

STCW 2010 requires all seafarers to receive basic safety training in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. The minimum requirements for familiarisation and basic safety training are contained within the STCW Basic Safety Training Course.
​
The STCW Basic Safety Training course is the legal minimum requirement for anyone looking for commercial work aboard vessels over 24 metres, including Superyachts and Cruise ships.
​
This course is made up of 5 modules which meet the minimum STCW 2010 familiarisation and basic safety training requirements.

​
​​We offer STCW Training Course as a 5 day package including full board accommodation as a method of delivering the qualification in the most effective manner in terms of time and cost. Compacted into just one week of teaching; this package combines all 5 modules together, and instantly ensures you have all the necessary qualifications you need to work on board a ship. Alternatively our modules are available individually if required, please contact our team for further details.
Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)
Our highly trained and experienced instructors teach students actions to be taken by individuals to protect themselves in emergency situations. This element gives students the skills to survive at sea in the event of abandoning ship, with theoretical and practical sessions using life rafts, immersion suits and other survival equipment.
Proficiency in Security Awareness (A-VI/1-6)
Seafarers now require Proficiency in Security Awareness, this additional certification is included within the 5 day course. The training module is all about how to respond to security issues and threats whilst working at sea. Providing knowledge, understanding and proficiency to personnel intending to work on ships who will not have any designated security duties.
Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (A-VI/1-2)
Utilising our bespoke facility, we offer students practical training using modern fire fighting equipment and breathing apparatus to extinguish various types and sizes of fires, incorporating live casualty rescues for the added realism. This element of the course also outlines therotecial precautions for minimising the risk of fire, the causes of fires and how to extinguish them.
Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3)
Taught by current serving local authority emergency service personnel using a combination of theoretical and practical training for basic first aid and life-saving skills. it also familiarises novices with the employment conditions and working environment on board.
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (A-VI/1-4)
Classroom-based course covering basic induction training in safety procedures and accident prevention. This element will also familiarise novices with life, culture, employment conditions and the working environment on board a vessel.
5 Day Residential
Live Fire Training
Live fire attack and search unit available, Multi-compartment multi-level ​'H-Block' training facility.
Situated in our expansive education centre in the idyllic Hampshire countryside.

Providing fire fighters and fire teams a realistic training environment whereby fire fighting skills are tested and enhanced.
​
See fire behaviour and fire phenomenon first hand as the fire develops in intensity.
​
Experience realistic attack scenarios where firefighters are exposed to environmental conditions found within a compartment fire.
Learn current firefighting and fire suppression techniques from trainers who practise these skills daily as emergency responders

We offer all emergency services the opportunity to experience environmental conditions associated with fire and other testing scenarios tailored to their role including irrespirable atmospheres.

Confined Space / Collapsed Structure
Whether it be at height or in confined tunnel systems with restricted access and egress, we can simulate any conditions required for learners to gain experience in safely traversing any hazards within testing environments, situated in our expansive education centre in the idyllic Hampshire countryside.

Our collapsed structure facility provides a safe realistic environment for any emergency responders to practice tunnelling and safe movement around unstable structures. This venue will also benefit anyone involved in emergency planning and disaster management.

The range of scenarios available provides excellent opportunities for training Bronze to Gold Commanders.
